K-12 Health Career Academies
High School Pre-Apprenticeship Program: (include photo of AMYA): The SC AHEC has provided multi-week intensive Healthcare Pre-Apprenticeship Programming in conjunction with the Alaska Military Youth Academy on their “Cadet to Work” program since 2016. Students receive a variety of industry-recognized credentials, participate in field trips and hands-on experiences, and explore the wide breadth of career options in the healthcare sector.
Behavioral and Allied Health Camps
Week-long day camps for both high school and middle school age groups focusing on healthcare career exploration and hands-on activities in allied and behavioral health fields. Students at the high school level may have the opportunity to earn certifications such as CPR and Mental Health First Aid. Please complete the interest form to learn about upcoming camps and how to register.

The Scrubs Academy is a week-long health career exploration day camp for kids 6-12. Students experience hands-on activities like Mock Surgery and Vet Clinic while interacting with a wide range of health care professionals.
Pop-up Camps have all the fun of a Scrubs Academy condensed into one to two hours of interactive activities such as Dress-up Like a Healthcare Professional or Music Therapy.
SC AHEC collaborates with school districts, colleges and other programs to offer tailor-made biomedical STEM curriculum. The opportunities that we provide for learning and exploration can open new horizons for students and help them change the course of their future!
