Cook Inlet Tribal Council’s Health Profession Opportunity Grants Program, similar to our AHEC, is in the business of making dreams come true for Alaskans.

Check out this amazing story of Mary, whose life journey took her from a downward spiral of addictions to a life of meaning through achieving her goals:

The SC AHEC has been working in partnership with (HPOG) since 2015 and we consider this group to be a highly valuable partner in training our entry level health workforce in the South Central Alaska region.

Cook Inlet Tribal Council’s HPOG program seeks to provide health care vocational training and higher education to South Central Alaskans so individuals can become financial self-sufficient and advance their lives.

Currently, the AHEC provides monthly PATH Academies to prepare HPOG participants for entry into the health workforce, as well as periodic Lunch and Learns and networking opportunities to promote the great work they are doing. For more information on this excellent program, contact the HPOG office at 793-3322 or email HPOG@citci.org

Best,
Mari
