To promote health workforce development so that all Alaskans have access to employment and quality healthcare.
To be the national model for successful health care workforce development.
We honor and recognize our partners.
We are constantly looking for creative solutions
We advocate for the underserved population and communities.
We do the right thing, even if it is not the easy choice.
We continue to learn and grow as an agency.
Initially funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Area Health Education Centers (AHECs) are academic and community partnerships that address healthcare workforce issues.
We introduce students to healthcare career opportunities, establish community-based training sites for students in service-learning and clinical capacities, provide continuing education programs for health care professionals, and evaluate the needs of underserved communities in South Central Alaska.
